Saying Goodbye at Home: In-Home Pet Euthanasia in Valrico, Lithia & Brandon
There’s no easy way to say goodbye to your best bud....
For many families in Valrico, Lithia, Brandon, and the surrounding neighborhoods, choosing in-home pet euthanasia allows their pet’s final moments to happen in the place they feel safest, their home.
And when the time comes, having the right support makes all the difference.
A Gentle, In-Home Option for End-of-Life Pet Care

Because in their own words… "there are no rules in these moments, only love."
Why Families Choose In-Home Pet Euthanasia
For many pet parents, the decision isn’t just when… it’s how.
Choosing at-home euthanasia allows for:
A calm, familiar environment
Reduced stress and anxiety for your pet
The ability for the whole family to be present
Closure for the other animals in your home
Time and space to say goodbye in your own way
A more peaceful, controlled experience
It’s not about making the moment easier - it’s about making it more meaningful.
A Story That Shaped the Mission
Parting Paws was founded by Dr. Regner after she found herself in a position many veterinarians eventually face, standing not just as a doctor, but as a pet parent.
When it was time to say goodbye to her own dog, Chief, she chose to do so at home, on the family farm, surrounded by love.
That experience became the foundation of her work.
She went on to become a hospice and palliative care specialist, ensuring that families navigating end-of-life decisions for their pets receive not just medical guidance, but emotional support every step of the way.
What Happens After: Gentle Aftercare Options
End-of-life care doesn’t stop at the goodbye.
Parting Paws also offers private aftercare services, meaning your pet is cared for respectfully from beginning to end, never leaving their hands.
They are also the first to bring pet aquamation to Hillsborough/ Pinellas County, offering an alternative to traditional cremation.
What is Aquamation?
Aquamation is a water-based, eco-friendly alternative to cremation that gently accelerates the natural process of returning the body to the earth.
• No flames
• Lower environmental impact
• A softer, more natural process
For families who value sustainability and gentleness, it’s a meaningful option to consider.
When Is It Time?
This is the question no one ever feels ready to answer.
If you’re searching things like:
“How do I know when it’s time to euthanize my dog?”
"My pet is still eating, is it too soon?"
"How do i know they're not suffering?"
“End-of-life care for pets near me”
… you’re already in that space of love, awareness, and advocacy for your pet.
And you don’t have to navigate that alone.
A Local Resource You Can Keep On Hand
We hope you never need it tomorrow.
But having a plan brings peace when the time does come.
From Us, At Walk the Walk
At Walk the Walk, we spend our days in the in-between moments - the walks, the routines, the small habits that shape a pet’s life over time.
We see the personalities, the changes, the aging… the subtle shifts that only show up when you’re consistently there.
And because we’re trusted with that part of their lives, it’s just as important to us that when the time comes, they’re given the same level of thoughtful, compassionate care all the way through.
That’s why having trusted, local referral partners like Parting Paws matters so much to us.
We don’t provide end-of-life services, but we do believe in making sure our clients have access to the right people when they need them most.
Because loving them well isn’t just about the good days.
It’s about showing up for every chapter, especially the ones that are hardest to walk through.
With Great Love <3
